Mainstream Technical Directions for New-Generation Low-Noise Mufflers

To meet increasingly strict noise limits, three mature advanced muffler technologies are widely applied in product development:

（1）High-efficiency silencing internal structure

Manufacturers optimize the internal air guide structure of mufflers to slow down the flow speed of exhaust gas, reduce airflow turbulence, and cut down the mechanical noise generated by exhaust impact. This structure features stable silencing effect and strong durability, which is widely used in family car standard mufflers.

（2）Multi-chamber muffler design

Multi-cavity layered silencing is the most popular mainstream design currently. Exhaust gas passes through multiple independent silencing chambers step by step, and noise is gradually absorbed and weakened inside each chamber. Compared with single-chamber traditional mufflers, multi-chamber mufflers have far better noise reduction performance and can balance exhaust smoothness well.

（3）Active noise reduction exhaust technology

As a cutting-edge innovation, active noise reduction technology emits reverse sound waves to offset exhaust noise intelligently. It is mostly applied in high-end new energy vehicles and luxury fuel vehicles, representing the future high-end development direction of exhaust systems.
